William Lee Butterfield Sr. Jan. 24, 1934 - March 16, 1998
William Butterfield Sr., 64, of Napoleon died Monday morning at the Toledo Hospital.
Born Jan. 24, 1934, in Wauseon, he was the son of Robert and Thelma (Sheely) Butterfield. On Aug. 2, 1953, he married Bernadine Scheele, who survives.
He was a machine operator for the France Stone Co. of Waterville for 33 years, retiring in 1998. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-56. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Napoleon and Local #18 of the Heavy Equipment Operators Union.
He is also survived by a daughter, Debra Rohrs of Naples, Fla.; three sons, Robert of Monroe, Mich., Randy of Broomfield, Colo., and William Jr. of Napoleon; a sister, Annette Strayer of Liberty Center; two brothers, Robert Burns of Kendallville, Ind., and Ronald Bums of South Bend, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Napoleon, Rev. Timothy Shoup officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center, where military services will be performed by the Liberty Center V.F.W. and American Legion.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center.
