Freida L. Butterfield, 75, Liberty Center, died suddenly this morning in the Henry County Hospital emergency room.
Born in McClure Aug. 18, 1912, she was the daughter of John and Olive (Johnson) Beavers. On Aug. 3, 1933, she married Ronald R. Bums, and he preceded her in death May 16, 1950. She then married Robert Butterfield Feb. 17, 1951, and he preceded her in death Dee. 30,1980.
She and Burns owned a bakery in Custar and a potato chip business in Liberty Center until 1950. She and Butterfield owned a bakery in Liberty Center until 1954. She then worked for Markey Bronze in both Liberty Center and Delta, retiring in 1970.
Butterfield was a member of the Liberty Center Wesleyan Church, Liberty Center Zoning Board, Mothers of World War II and Henry County Senior Center and Senior Center Bowling League.
Surviving are a daughter, Annette Strayer of Liberty Center; two sons, Robert E. Burns of Liberty Center and Ronald R. Burns of South Bend, Ind.; a stepson, William L. Butterfield of Napoleon; two brothers, Harvey Beavers of Toledo and Alfred Beavers of Waterville; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wesley and Omar Beavers, and a sister, Oma Vance.
