Bernadine E. Butterfield June 6, 1932 - Aprll 9, 2005

Bernadine Emily Butterfield, 72, of Napoleon, died Saturday at her residence.

Born June 6, 1932, in Napoleon, she was the daughter of Henry and Thelma Pauline (Rettig) Scheele. On Aug. 2, 1953, she married William Lee Butterfield Sr., who preceded her in death March 16, 1998.

A member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, she worked at Universal Bolt and Screw, Bryan, for 20 years before retiring in 1976.

She is survived by a daughter, Debra (Arnie) Rohrs of Albuquerque, N.M.; three sons, Robert W. (Julie) of Monroe. Mich., Randy L. (Andrea) of Albuquerque and William L. Jr. (Lori) of Napoleon; a brother, Henry (Kathy) Scheele of Napoleon; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Delores Scheele; and a grandchild.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Pastor Charles E. Kramer officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, Rev. Stephen Niermann of St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Township, officiating.

Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Henry County or St. Paul Lutheran Church.
