Jett C. Bryan, 85, Liberty Center, died Sunday evening at Floro Nursing Home.
He was born September 2, 1895, in Liberty Center, to Arthur and Verdilla (Ehrgood) Bryan Sr. He married Edna B. Hoffman on February 12, 1927, and she survives.
Mr. Bryan had been a linotype operator in Port Clinton and later operated Bryan’s Grocery in Liberty Center trom 1928 to 1949. He was also employed by the State of Ohio, retiring in 1964.
He was a member of Liberty Center United Methodist Church and a charter member of World War I Veterans, Napoleon; Disabled American Veterans, Napoleon; Gilbert-Bauman American Legion #492, Liberty Center; and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Liberty Center. He was awarded a 65-year pin trom Liberty Center Lodge #518, F&AM, last Sunday.
Mr. Bryan’s World War I service was in the Air Force.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Christine) Cunningham, San Diego, California, and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Saul, Liberty Center. Two brothers, A. Z. Bryan Jr. and D. C. Bryan, preceded him in death.
Friends may call alter 2 p.m. Tuesday at Croll-Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, where services will be held Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., the Reverend Thomas Hanover officiating. Memorial services will be conducted at the mortuary Tuesday, 7 p.m., by the Masons, and at 8 p.m. by the DAV Post.
Burial will be in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, where graveside military services will be conducted by the American Legion and the VFW Post.
The family suggests any memorials be made to the Liberty Center United Methodist Church.
