Lovina Merriman, the fourth child of Ira and Lucinda Merriman, was born at Norwalk, Ohio, March 11, 1844, and departed from this life January 7, 1919, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 26 days.
In 1846 her family came to Henry county, where she was reared and spent her entire life. She was married to Wilson Shannon Brown March 15, 1806. To this union were born seven children, three of whom died in infancy; one daughter and three sons surviving. Deceased was prominently identified with the life and growth of this community, taking a leading part in the various religious, civil and social activities. She was a faithful member of the Reformed Church, a lifelong Sunday school teacher and worker, and was an active member of the Woman’s Relief Corps, the Rebekah Lodge and other societies, for many years.
She lived a full and noble life, devoted to the interests of her family, her friends and neighbors, who mourn her loss. Her husband, four children and two sisters survive her.
Funeral services were held at the residence Friday; Rev. D. C. DeGroat officiating. Interment in Young’s cemetery.
