Death came to the relief of the estimable wife of our aged follow citizen, George Bowers, on Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Bowers had been in poor health for some time, suffering from a complication of ailments. Mrs. Bowers' maiden name was Margaret Ellis, and she was born October 15, 1840, at Attica, Seneca county, Ohio, and died at her home at 915 Lombard street, Napoleon, Ohio, Aug. 25, 1915, aged 74 years, 10 mouths and 10 days. At the age of 9 years she came with her parents to Liberty township where she grew to womanhood. Jan. 20, 1858, she was united in marriage to George Bowers. To them have been born six children, all of whom, with their aged father, survive her. They are, Mrs. David Meekison, now living in Toledo; Mrs. Knott Crockett, of Paulding, O.; Charles Bowers, of Liberty township; Samuel Bowers, of Napoleon; Mrs. Elliott Haag, of NapoIeon; and Ora Bowers, of Liberty township. Mrs. Bowers was an active member of the Rebecca Lodge and of the first Presbyterian church and died calm in the assurance of the Christian faith. The funeral, attended by the Rebecca Lodge in a body, and by many other friends, was held from the late home of the departed, Friday afternoon, her pastor, the Rev. Hurd Allyn Drake officiating.
