Glen E. Bowers, age 64, of S. Munson Rd., Swanton, died at his home January 11 after a long illness. Glen had just recently moved back to Swanton, after spending the last 10 years in Crystal River, FL. While in Florida, he owned and operated the Back Home Antique Store in Crystal River. Prior to moving to Florida he owned and operated Glen's Furniture & Floor Covering in Swanton for about 25 years. He is a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and is very active in Gideon International. While in Swanton he was active in many local organizations.
Glen is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Linda Grames and Michael Bowers, both of Swanton, OH and Thelma Bowers of Crystal River, FL; stepchildren, Frank Belcher of Maumee, Jay Belcher of Hamilton OH, Marie and Joel Belcher both of Cincinnati; 14 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Bowers of Inverness, FL, Kenneth Bowers of Grand Rapids; sister, Beatrice Ross of Orlando, FL.
Friends may call at the Biehl-Malone Funeral Home, Swanton from 2-5 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 15 at 11 a.m. Interment Young Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Gideon International.
