Laura Bitzinger, age 86, of Holland and formerly of Liberty Center, passed away on February 24, 2013, at Spring Meadows Extended Care. Laura was born in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio on July 23, 1926, to Henry and Clara (Hasemeier) Rosebrock. She met and married Paul Bitzinger in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on December 21, 1946, and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1971. A member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Laura was very active in many Church activities. She was also a member of the Liberty Center VFW wife's club, former Grey Lady for Heller Memorial Hospital in Napoleon, served as council person at large for the Luther Woods Apartments and was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts in Liberty Center. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her children, Christine (Dr. Barry, D.D.S.) Aab, Marlene (Chet) Blair, Douglas (Alice) Bitzinger, Robin Bitzinger; grandchildren, Steven (Nikki) and Daniel Aab, Carol, Michelle, and Christopher Bitzinger; Samantha Bitzinger, Holly (Paul) McNerney, Brian (Amanda) and Eric Bitzinger; great-grandchildren, Lukas and Braydan Aab, Ilina Bitzinger, Ellie McNerney; sister, Henrietta Libey; brother, Henry (Mary) Rosebrock Jr. She was preceded in death by son, Michael; sisters, Esther Rosebrock, Frieda Oehmke, Clara Reynolds; brothers, Alvin "Rosy" Rosebrock, Frederick Rosebrock, Carl Rosebrock, and daughter-in-law, Marcella "Sally" Bitzinger.
Friends and family will be received in the Neville Funeral Home, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland (419-865-8879) from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Burial will follow at Young Cemetery, Liberty Center, Ohio. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Gloria Dei Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
