Rev. Edward Beard, 77, died in St. Vincent s Hospital, Toledo, on Monday. He was a native of Union County. O.
On March 31, 1907, he was married to Miss Louella Fosnaugh, who preceded him in death on April 15, 1958. To this union were born three children.
He was a lifelong resident of Liberty Center, except for his boyhood days and for short periods of residence in Bowling Green and Toledo.
Following his conversion he pursued the Lay Preacher's Home Study Course of the Pilgrim Holiness Church and later became pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Deshler. where he served for many years.
In 1957 he received his certificate of ordination to full time ministerial duties from the Western Ohio District of the Pilgrim Holiness Church.
On June 1, 1959, he was married to Mrs. Pearl Potter of Toledo.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl, daughter, Mrs. James Phillips, of Liberty Center; sons, Leland, of Colton, Calif. and Kenneth of Toledo, O.; three stepchildren, Robert and David Staffler of Toledo and Mrs. Helen Bourke of Dearborn. Mich.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Beard, of Detroit. Mich, and Ernest Beard of West Virginia; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Foley of Columbus. O.; Mrs. Ethel Ewing of Prospect, O., and Mrs. Blanche Kline of Sherman, Texas.
The memorial service will be conducted from the Liberty Center Pilgrim Church, with the Rev. Wayne Goldsmith officiating. The body will be taken from the Fiser Funeral Home to the Pilgrim Church at 11:30 Thursday morning, where services will be conducted at 1 p m.
Final resting place will be in Young's Cemetery. Liberty Center.

Rev. E. P. Beard
Reverend Edward P. Beard, 77, Liberty Center and Toledo, died Monday at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo, after an illness of 17 weeks.
He was a retired Minister and member of Western Ohio district of Pilgrim Holiness Church.
Mr. Beard was born on July 26, 1886, and had formerly been married to Luella Fosnow.
Services will be held Thursday, December 5, at 1 P.M., at Pilgrim Holiness Church, Liberty Center, Reverend Wayne Goldsmith presiding.
Friends may call at Fiser Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
Burial will be at Young Cemetery.
