Otto C. Bartels, 68, Liberty Center farmer, died at Detwiler Hospital Saturday, May 29.
Born in Hamler, June 19, 1902 he was the son of Fred C. and Anna (Buchenberg) Bartels. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Liberty Center.
Preceding him in death were a sister, Mrs. Ida Arps, 1962 and brothers Arnold, 1958, and Alvin, in 1954.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille; two sons, Robert, Liberty Center, Walter, Bradenton, Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Janet) Torkelson, Toledo, Mrs. Joe (Sandra) Wilson, Ligonier, Indiana; two brothers, Fred H., former Henry County Sheriff, Rudolph, Flagstaff, Arizona; four sisters, Mrs. William (Ella) Plassman, Mrs. Rudolph (Alvina) Meyer, and Mrs. Amelia Storch, all of Hamler, Mrs. Martin (Hilda) Baden, Napoleon; seven grandchildren; and four great -grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Walker Mortuary with Reverend Theodore Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today.
