Elaine Baker, 86, of Liberty Center died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Henry County Hospital.
Elaine was born Sept. 19, 1922, in Malinta, Monroe Township, to the late Lawrence and Hazel (Brinkman) Harms. She married Henry Junior Baker on May 8, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1995.
One daughter in infancy, Susan Baker, also preceded her in death.
A 1940 graduate of Florida High School, Mrs. Baker retired in 1986 from the Liberty Center Schools, where she was a cashier for 16 years. During World War II, Elaine was employed at Lynch Manufacturing and The Automatics, both in Defiance, and McCord Manufacturing, Wauseon. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Liberty Center, and a former member of the Liberty Center Garden Club and Turkey Foot Trotters Square Dancing Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet (Thomas) Zachrich, Napoleon; a son, Brian (Brenda) Baker, Liberty Center: eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lloyd (Jeanette) Harms, Napoleon.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Liberty Center, with the Rev. David GoeLmann presiding. Burial will follow in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center. Visitation is Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Wright-Hobbs Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
