Babcock. - Mr. Lorenzo Babcock was born in Jefferson countv, New York, on the 25th day of Feb., 1825. He moved with his parents to Crawford county, Ohio, in the year of 1832, and there he lived until 1838, when he moved to Fulton county, O., and from there he moved to Henry county in 1842, where the deceased lived until his death.
He was united in marriage to Sarah Ann Patrick on April 4th, 1849, and to this union were born 7 children, three of whom preceded him to the promised land.
He united with the Christian Union church in 1874, and he continued a most faithful member up to the time of his death, which occurred on Thursday, Feb. 8th, 1906, aged 80 years, 11 months and 14 days. He had been a patient sufferer for the past year. He has held several prominent offices in the church, being building committee when they built Olive Chapel, and he has also held the office of Trustee in Liberty township several terms.
Mr. Babcock leaves to mourn his departure a wife, 2 sons Messrs. George and Alvin Babcock, and two daughters,Mesdames Joseph Hoover and Frank Chroninger, 11 grand children. 3 great grand children, and a number of other relatives and friends. He was a kind and affectionate father and husband and an estimable neighbor.
Funeral services were held at the Reform church at Liberty Center on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 11th. at 2 o'clock, Rev. DeWitt officiating, and the remains laid to rest in Young’s cemetery.
