Robert L. Armbruster, 76, of Liberty Center died Tuesday at Heartland of Browning Nursing Home, Waterville.
Born July 18, 1925, in Bowling Green, he was the son of Carl and Grace (Maiers) Armbruster. On Aug. 21, 1971, he married Maxine Gorley, who preceded him in death Nov. 26, 1985.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was manager at A & P grocery store, Bowling Green, until 1974. He and his wife then owned and operated the Country Cafe, Liberty Center from 1974 to 1977. He was then a maintenance caretaker at Country View Haven, Napoleon, from 1977 to 1989.
He is survived by four daughters, Pam Manring of Cincinnati, Sherry Layman of Bowling Green, Deb Rasmussen of Virginia Beach, Va., and Ronda Wentworth of Liberty Center; a son, Ron Bowers of Liberty Center; a sister, Roberta Pohlman of Toledo; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, Rev. David MacDonald officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center where military honors will be accorded by the Liberty Center V.F.W. and American Legion.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
