Christian Youngmann (Christoph C. Jungmann) according to naturalization records, arrived on U.S. soil on Oct. 3, 1883, and became a citizen five years later. He came from an area around Saltau, Hannover, Germany. His first wife and he had two children before she died; he then married her sister, Margaretha Bargmann, and they had 12 children; then they came to the U.S., settling near Okolona, Ohio, where he cleared land and cut logs for railroad ties and sold them to the railroad for a living. He was born May 11, 1827, and died Nov. 19, 1900, and is buried at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Flatrock Twp., Henry County, Ohio. Children of first union were Christopher, married widow, Mary Lange (Bartels) and Katherena who married Henry Meyer in Germany.

George (1872), married Ella Leatherman; 9. Emma (1878), married Herman Ripke; 10. Minnie (1875), married Henry Klefoth; 11. Dorothea (Doretea) (Nov. 13, 1881), married Frank Dirkmander; 12. August (Jan. 4, 1885), married Adina Helmke.

Casper Zierolf
Casper Zierolf and Mary A. Bvoden from Bavaria, Germany, came to America and were married in Boston. After their parents joined them, they came to Ohio, settling in Medina County.
Five years later on May 5, 1852, Casper and his wife purchased 80 acres of wild land for $500 in Marion Twp. on the Belmore Ridge, now County Road Y. The Ridge being higher than surrounding land, it became the route they traveled by foot to Brunersburg to have grain ground. Later, an ox cart was used. A house of logs was built with puncheon floor and roof of clapboards, not a single nail being used in the roof or floor.
Casper died in 1880. He and his wife are buried in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In the city of Boston, four children were born: Casper, William, Elizabeth, and James, Mary E. and Peter were born in Medina County. Casper, Peter, Elizabeth, and Mary E. were residents of Benton County, Oregon, at the times of their deaths.
James married and had three sons, Otto, Edward, and Ozville. He died quite young and is buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
William N. was nine years of age when the family came to Henry County. He attended the common schools and also attended Heidelberg College at Tiffin.
In January, 1869, he married Christina Swabley, the daughter of Hugo and Anna M. Frank of the pioneer colony at New Bavaria.
William and his wife continued to live in Marion Township where he farmed and served as township treasurer, school director and county commissioner.
They moved to Napoleon in 1899 and lived there until he died on Nov. 11, 1929. His wife had died on June 6, 1928, and both are buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
William and Christina had a family of three sons and three daughters. William C. was ordained a priest by His Eminence James Cardinal Gibbons of Baltimore, Md., in Dec., 1905. He offered his first Mass on Christmas, 1905, and was made a domestic prelate in 1938, with the title of Rt. Rev. Msgr. He died in 1953 and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sandusky.
John died in 1917, Elizabeth in 1950, Anna in 1958. Frances married John J. Mangas and had three sons, Donald, Gerald, and George. She died in 1954.
Peter C. married Magdalen M. Konzen, the daughter of Frank Konzen, who at 19 came from Germany and settled in Chillicothe. There he met and married Mary A. Kellhofer. Later, the Konzen family moved to Freedom Twp. where they raised a family of six sons and four daughters.
Peter C. and his wife lived in Marion Twp. where he engaged in farming. He served several terms as township trustee and also on the board of education. They moved to Napoleon in 1941 and celebrated the golden wedding anniversary on Sept. 3, 1945. He died on May 25, 1952, and Magdalen died on May 16, 1960. Both are buried in St. Augustine Cemetery, Napoleon.
Peter and Magdalen had a family of five daughters and two sons. All received their education in District 9, Marion Twp. and graduated from Holgate High School.
Marie married A. C. Westrick and had a daughter, Sister Mary Margaret, RSM. Elizabeth married Walter J. Wagner of Lorain and they had James, William, Peter, Marie, Jeanne and Mary Lou. Valerie married Frank Mess and taught in Henry County Schools for 36 years. Martha was a loyal worker and true friend. Kathleen married Charles Gary of Amherst and had Peter, Timothy, John, Charles, Kevin and Kathy, Suzanne, and Sr. Mary Ailene S.N.D.
Lee married Charlotte Hirsch of Dayton and had Lee C. and Barbara. He was an athletic director and teacher for 23 years, and was also business administrator of Providence Hospital, Sandusky, for 20 years.
Peter P. married Rose Mantia of Dayton and they were the parents of Mary Rose, Susan, Joanne, Paula, Kathy, Peter D. and William. He graduated from the University of Dayton as an engineer, was stationed at Panama and served in the Pacific during World War II.
