Jacob Yaichner Family

Jacob Yaichner, son of Martin Yaichner, Sr. and Barbara Schmidt Yaichner, was born on January 17, 1857 in Henry County, Ohio.

In November, 1885, he married Mary Elizabeth Hoffman, the daughter of George and Elizabeth Gearhart Hoffman. Their union was blessed with five children.

Anna Yaichner was born on November 18, 1886 and died on February 11, 1912.

John W. Yaichner was born in 1888 and died in 1968. He married Lillian Rettig who was born in 1894 and died in 1952. They had six children: Vera, Leota, Floyd, Nelson, Goria Mae, and Marvin.

George M. Yaichner was born in 1890 and died in 1972. He married Bessie V. Frantz who was born in 1890 and died in 1975. They had one son, Lloyd G. Yaichner.

Frank E. Yaichner was born in 1894 and died in 1970. He married Mary E. Gearhart who was born in 1904. They had one daughter Louise A. Yaichner.

Barbara E. Yaichner was born it-, 1896 and died in 1963. She married Edwin Melford Knipp who was born in 1886 and died in 1962.

All the children except Anna grew to adulthood, married and settled on farms in the immediate vicinity of Flatrock and Monroe Townships except Frank. After his service in World War I he married and settled in Crawford County, Ohio.

Most of the third and fourth generations of the family are residents of Henry County and at the present time are rearing their families in familiar territory. Having various occupations, some are still following the occupation of their grandparents as tillers of the soil.
