William Sherman Willeman was born on October 9, 1844, and died on September 25, 1908. He married Sophia Ellen Bleeter (or Bletter) who was born in 1853 and died in 1927. They were residents of Ridgeville Township. They were members of the Ridgeville Methodist Church, then transferred their membership to the Congregational Church there. The family is buried in the Locust Grove Cemetery at Ridgeville Corners. William and Sophia were married on October 16, 1866.
William and Sophia had eleven children of their own and also raised the two children, Oscar (Bub) and Howard Willeman, sons of their daughter, Flo. Oscar died in 1966.
William Willeman died on September 25, 1908, and Sophia died on September 7, 1927. Children listed in the will of William Sherman Willeman were Flora, Nellie, Annette, Ida, Katie, Oliver, Martin, Sherman and Roy (or Jacob). When Sophia died in 1927 there were four children listed as living and they were Flora, Nettie, Martin and Jacob.
Flora Willeman was born in 1868 and died in 1939. She married John F. Baer and had a daughter, Helen, born on August 2, 1903, died on January 20, 1907. An infant daughter was born and died on June 2, 1891. A son, Glen Baer, is buried at the Locust Grove Cemetery. John Baer's first wife, Mary died in March, 1890, at the age of thirty-seven years. Glen Baer never married.
Nellie Willeman married John Wilson and had no issue.
Nettie, or Annette, was born on October 5, 1871, and died in 1908. She married Charles Harms and their children were Mae, Doris, Oleto, Paul, Clyde, and Harry Harms.
Ida Willeman married Barton Kent and lived in Toledo, Ohio. Their only child, a son, died when about twelve years old. He was killed while riding his bicycle.
Oliver Willeman was born in 1874 and died in 1918. His wife, Margaret, was born in 1880, and died in 1948. Their children were Sherman, Cleo, Russell, Dallas, and Bernard. Cleo was born in 1905 and died on March 7, 1966. He married Delia Beardley and had Wayne and Madlyn. Madlyn Warner lived in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1966, Sherman lived in Detroit, Michigan; Bernard lived in Wauseon, Ohio; Dallas lived at Wauseon, Ohio; and Russell lived at Springfield, Ohio.
Sada, or Sadie, Willeman was born on December 23, 1879. She died on March 20, 1902. She married George W. Sampson on May 15, 1901, and she died on March 17, 1902, and is buried at Defiance, Ohio. She had no issue.
