The William Weible family apparently immigrated from Pennsylvania in the 1850's. The U.S. Census for 1850 shows this family as William Weible, age 61, born Pennsylvania; his wife, Hannah, age 58, born Pennsylvania; and Samuel, age 18, born Pennsylvania.
A large family Bible has written in the front cover the following data concerning the deaths, by dysentery, the following year of 1851, and was recorded by the father.
"My wife, Hannah Weible, born August 15, died August 21, 1851, age fifty-nine years. Samuel Weible was born August, died August 20, 1851, aged nineteen years. Edward Weible was eight years, seven months, and ten days, died 1851, of Ruhr. Joseph Weible died September 5, 1851, aged ten months, twelve days."
William and Hannah Weible were the parents of Priscilla Weible Sidlinger who married John Sidlinger in 1844. The writing in the Bible is almost illegible having been written in German script on the now yellowed and stained inside front cover.
The families of John Sidlinger, Priscilla Weible, Frederick Leonhardt, and Catharine Ubel were ancestors of Virginia Sidlinger Gustafson Foster, now living in Alliance, Nebraska, and having the Bible records, she recorded the pages of this history. See also Leonhardt-Ubel family in this book.
