Frank and Mahala had five children. They were Mary E., Sarah E., Susan B., James F. and John A. Franklin served in the 64th Ohio Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War.
Amanda died in 1851. John died it 1851, both from diptheria, it thought. Sarah was born in 1851. Charles died in 1860. The other children were Emma, Daniel, Albert, Edward, and Clara.
