Theodore Albert Weddelman was born in 1866 in Wolfenbuttel, Brownscweig, Germany, and came alone to America at the age of 18. He lived with friends near Ridgeville Corners and worked on farms. He married Marie Dorthea Julie Friedeke Bostelman in 1890. She was born near Hanover, Germany, in 1866 and came to America in 1881 with her parents and two sisters who settled near Okolona.
Their children were: Anna, 1891- 1957, married Fred Retcher and had one child Anna; Wilhelmina (Minnie), 1893-1930, married Fred Wichman and had Laura who married Melvin Meyer; Elda who married Louis Bidlack; and Mildred who married Robert Hopper. Bertha, 1895-1908. Martha, 1896-, married Henry Boesling and lives near Napoleon. Emma, 1904-1926. Clara, 1904-1957, married Fred Brase and had Rosella who died in 1936, and Dorothy who married Albert Smith.
Henry Franklin William Weddelman, 1901- , married Ida Marie Baden, 1906- , in 1926 and they have resided at the present Weddelman homestead along the Maumee River and 424 outside Florida, Ohio, all their married life. Henry has farmed all his life and is now retired. Henry and Ida had six children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren as follows:
Alvina born 1927, married Waldo Hahn and had children Liza and Michael.
Kathryn born in 1929 married Ronald J. Upp, 1914-1959, and had Susan and David. She adopted Ronald's children from first wife, Roberta Hoy and they are Roberta, Ronnie, 1946-1966, and Richard. Roberta married Dennis Baden and her children are Steve, Jeffery, and Jennifer. Kathryn is now married to Franklin Boyd.
Eleanor born 1933 married Walter A. Meyer and had Ann.
Albert Theodore born 1936 married Bette Helmke and their children are Mark, Cathy, Cheryl, and Debbie.
Paul Henry born 1941 married Cecilia Poulson and had Gregory, Douglas, and Linda.
Lois Ann born 1943 married Charles E. Griffith and had Janet, Patricia, Charles, Kenneth, and Martha.
