The homestead farm of James G. and Bessie Randall Watson is located on U.S. Route 6, five miles east of Napoleon, and is one of Henry County's Centennial farms.
After selling their farm near Melmore in Seneca County, Ohio, William Andrew and Eliza Jane Welch Watson took possession of the farm in 1865. They brought with them their children, Hugh, Mary, Dr. William Victor, and James G., who was six weeks old at the time.
David G., Irene, and Leonard R. were born after William and Eliza located in Henry County.
James G. and Bessie Randall Watson had four children, Wendell, William, Gale, and Mrs. Norma Spieth, all born and raised on the farm. All graduated from the former Grelton High School.
The farm is now in the possession, and occupied, by Gale and Edna Kinder Watson. Gale and Edna had three daughters, Mary Ann, Judy, and Patsy. All the girls graduated from the former Malinta-Grelton High School.
Mary Ann Watson married Ned Rhamy. They, and their children, Robin, Tina, Kelly Jo, and Timothy, are also living on the farm at this time.
