Catharine Scott was born in Columbia County, Pennsylvania on July 16, 1841, and was a daughter of John (born in New Jersey, 1785-1872) and Jennie (born 1796-1855) Scott who later lived in Ohio. Catharine was a sister of General Robert K. Scott.
Catharine married William Lewis Wann on January 1, 1841, in Clarion County, Pennsylvania. William was the son of John and Catharine Wann, natives of Pennsylvania. William was born on September 18, 1816 in Chester County, Pennsylvania.
Catharine and William Lewis Wann had four children: Angie, Nettie married W.F. Hague, William Lelvis, Jr., and Kittie. William Lewis, at the age of fourteen, enlisted in the Union Army and was mustered out as a second lieutenant in the Regular Army.
Catharine settled in Napoleon in 1866, and was a widow in 1875 when an account of her life was written.
William Lewis, Jr. moved to Chicago, Illinois. Catharine's death date is not known.
