John H. Vocke

John H. Vocke, born in Germany, and Catharine Steckman, born 1811 in Germany, daughter of Herman Steckman, were married in 1837 in Auglaize County, Ohio.

They had seven children: Harmon H., Henry, Clemens, John Joseph, Bernard, Mary A., and John A. Vocke. John A. served in an Indiana Cavalry Regiment during the Civil War.

John H. Vocke came to Napoleon in 1864.

H.H. Vocke.and Brothers were proprietors of mills and distillery in Napoleon. They were millers, distillers, and carried dry goods, groceries and general merchandise.
