Roger Fredrick Tuttle was born in Napoleon on September 10, 1906. His parents were George Fredrick (Fred) Tuttle and Pauline (Gehringer) Tuttle. (Refer to article on G. Fredrick Tuttle). He has always been self-employed as an electrical contractor. He is a former member of the Elks Lodge and Odd Fellows Lodge.
On September 1, 1940, he married Viola A. Burkholder of Archbold, Fulton County, Ohio. She was born in Ridgeville Township, Henry County, Ohio, on September 4, 1909. Her parents were John D. Burkholder, born February 4, 1878, died September 18, 1955, and Edith (Rebo) Burkholder, born September 14, 1883, died May 11, 1950. (Refer to article on Daniel D. Burkholder). She was a member of the staff of the Napoleon Public Library for eight years, 1958-1966, and since December, 1966, has been a Deputy for the Clerk of the Common Pleas Court.
They have one daughter, Janet Marie, born on October 26, 1945. She attended Mary Manse College, Toledo, Ohio. She also was employed by the Northwest Signal newspaper as head bookkeeper for seven years (19641971). She is married to Robert H. Rothrock of Defiance, Ohio. He was born May 17, 1942. His parents are George R. and Betty M. (Knepp) Rothrock, Wallaceton, Pa.
They have three children: Tammy Leigh, born March 2, 1971; Robert Fredrick, born March 5, 1973; and Brian Douglas, born August 21, 1974. They live on Rt. 1, Ney, Ohio.
Roger and Viola have always lived at 851 West Main Street, Napoleon, Ohio.
