Virginia Foreman was born August 18, 1922, in Lucas County, Ohio, to George W. and Myrtle Lynn Foreman. The Foreman and Lynn families came to the Washington Township, Henry County, and Providence Township, Lucas County area during the 1840's.
There were nine children born to George and Myrtle Foreman: George, Alonzo, Samuel, Harry, Ervin, Ruth, Ruby, Virginia, and Genevieve.
Virginia Foreman lived with Mrs. Mabel Bechtol at Florida, Ohio, during her growing-up years. She graduated from Florida High School in 1942. In 1943, she joined the Women's Army Corps and served until 1948.
On June 4, 1949, Virginia married Bill J. Turner in California. He is the son of William F. and Carrie Belle Sims Turner, and was born in Missouri. Virginia and Bill met while they were both in service in California.
Sharron Kay Turner was born on August 29, 1950, and married Lee Box on August 19, 1968. Lee is the son of Cleo and Evelyn Box, and served in the
U.S. Army from 1968-1970. Their children are Amy Renee born in 1970 and Leesa Kay born in 1973. The Box family live in Liberty Center, Ohio.
Shirley Diane Turner was born April 18, 1952, graduated from Otsego High School, and married Donald Bostelman, son of Jack and Betty Bostelman. Their children are Carrie Lynn born in 1972 and William John born in 1973. The Bostelmans live in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
Nancy Jean Turner was born February 25, 1954, and married Tommy Winfield Kinder in 1970. They have two sons, Tommy born in 1970 and David born in 1973. The Kinders live in Deshler, Ohio.
Lorie Ann Turner was born in Toledo September 13, 1960. She attends Otsego High School and the Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids, and lives with her parents in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
Virginia is a registered practical nurse and works part-time at the Rapids Nursing Home in Grand Rapids. She is part-owner and operator of the Rapids Ceramic Shop in Grand Rapids.
Bill J. Turner is plant manager of Alloy Casting located near Grand Rapids. He was mayor of Grand Rapids from 1972 until January, 1975.
