William Tietje Family

William was born in Hanover, Germany on May 21, 1831. While in Germany he married Maria (Mary) Meyer. Here in Germany their six children were born: Wilhelm, Herman Heinrich, Heinrich, Heinrich Fredrick, Herman Wilhelm and Kathrina Maria Tietje.

After the birth of their last child his wife died. In 1879 William left Germany with three of his children: Heinrich (Henry), Heinrich Fredrick (Fred) and Kathrina Maria (Mary). They settled on a farm in Henry County, Ohio.
