Mr. and Mrs. Carl Steingass

John Steingass was born in Medina County, Ohio, on June 7, 1865, and moved to Pleasant Township, HenryCounty, about three miles west of New Bavaria, in 1870.

He married Caroline Scharnapau on December 24, 1891. Caroline was born in Pleasant Township, Henry County on July 22, 1876.

They had eight children, five girls and three boys: Margaret, Mamie, Clara, Helen, Ruth, Carl, Herman, and Elmer.

John and Caroline lived and farmed their entire life in Henry County.

Carl Steingass was born in Pleasant Township on December 28, 1904. He married Beatrice Zachrich on March 4, 1926. Beatrice was born in Pleasant Township on May 8, 1905.

Their children were Lloyd, Marvin and Marilyn who were twins.

Carl and Beatrice have farmed and still live on this same farm since 1928. It is on County Road 18 in Pleasant Township, Henry County.
