Ruth Marie (Shively) Robison is the oldest daughter and second child of Parlee and Mary Mae Shively. Born January 14, 1910 she has lived all of her adult life in Richfield Township. She graduated from Washington Township School in Wood County and received her teaching certificate from Bowling Green State University in 1934. She taught at Westhope School and in the Bowling Green School System until her retirement.
On March 30, 1935 she married Gail Robison, a son of John and Boneita Robison. He was born in Henry County on March 7, 1908. They lived first at Westhope and then moved to a farm east of Westhope where Ruth lives today. Gail farmed until his death on July 8, 1977.
The Robisons have three children. The oldest, Janet Robison Holbrook lives with her husband Ron and their two children Sherly and Kevin in Orlando, Florida. The younger son, Jerry lives in Sylvania, Ohio with his wife Nancy and their daughters, Jennifer and Leigh.
James Robison is the second child of Ruth and Gail Robison. He was born October 19, 1939 at Westhope. He attended Westhope School and graduated from Deshler High School. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years.
He was married at Peace Lutheran Church on March 16, 1963 to Carolyn Kay Barnes. She is the older daughter of Karl E. and Ruth (Houser) Barnes of McClure. Jim and Carolyn have five children. The oldest, Jeffrey, was born December 17, 1963 and is in the eighth grade at Deshler School. Robbi Lee is the second son and was born November 5, 1965. He is in the sixth grade at Deshler School. A third son, Timothy, was born December 28, 1970 and died in July of 1974. The youngest children are twins, Brian and Christa, born March 27, 1975.
Today Jim farms and is involved in Farm Bureau. The family attends Peace Lutheran Church of Deshler.
