Frederick Shibler was born in 1898 and died in 1957. He married Martha Arnos who was born in 1903 and was the daughter of John and Katherine Tonjes Arnos. Fred was a farmer and the family members of St. John Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Township, where Fred held deacon and trustee offices there. He was a Ridgeville Township trustee, served on the Henry County Health Board, and the Ridgeville Telephone Company. He died of a heart attack in 1957. Mrs. Martha Shibler is living on the farm two miles northwest of Ridgeville. The Shiblers had four living daughters, Kathleen, Dorothy, Mary, and Helen.
Kathleen was born in 1927 and is married to Paul Hammon. Paul was born in 1923, a son of Howard Hammon, and is a route salesman for the Napoleon Creamery Company. Paul served, and was wounded, in World War II. The family are members of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio and Paul has held offices of deacon, treasurer, and elder in the church. Paul and Kathleen live near Napoleon and have five children, John, Susan, Frederick, Mary, and Julie. John, born 1950, is married to Elaine Wyse, born 1951, a daughter of Wayne H. Wyse. John is a Lutheran Parochial teacher and former school superintendent. They live in Napoleon and have one daughter, Jennifer, who was born in 1975.
Susan was born in 1953, is a Lutheran Parochial school teacher, and is to be married in July, 1978, to William Aschemeier who was born in 1953 and is a son of Arthur Aschemeier.
Frederick is a construction designer. He was born in 1956 and was married in September, 1978, to Rita Thompson who was born in 1957 and a daughter of Harold Thompson.
Mary was born in 1957, is married to Michael Bishop. Michael was born in 1954 and is a son of Lavon Bishop, and is a factory employee and me chanic. Mary and Michael have one son, Matthew born in 1976.
Julie, the youngest child of Kathleen and Paul Hammon, was born in 1962 and is a student at Napoleon High School.
Dorothy Shibler was born in 1930 and is married to Raymond Hurst. Raymond was born in 1929, a son of Alfred Hurst, and is a dairy and grain farmer. He has held the offices of deacon and trustee in the St. John Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Township, where the family are members, and is a former councilman of Milk Inc., and is a Director of Federal Land Bank of Bryan. He served in the army during the Korean Conflict. They have six children, Michael, Marsha, Steven, Roger, Robert, or Willie, and Carl.
Michael, born 1952, is married to Susan Hogrefe, born 1953, daughter of Raymond Hogrefe, and is a carpenter. He served in the army in the Vietnam conquest and is secretary at St. John Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Township. Michael and Sue have a son and daughter, Jeremy born 1973, and Carrie, born 1977, and live on the corner of the Fred Shibler home place.
Marsha, born 1954, is married to Lynn Bostelman, born 1949, son of Paul Bostelman. Lynn is a factory employee, served in the army in the Vietnam conquest, and is on the school board at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler, Ohio. Marsha and Lynn live in Napoleon, Ohio, and have one daughter, Sarah, born in 1977.
Steven, born in 1956, is married to Sue Ann Hesterman, born 1955, daughter of Vernon Hesterman. Steven is an elevator employee, and is in part-time dairy farming with his father. They live in Ridgeville Corners.
Robert, or Willie, is a student at Four County School and is a tractor mechanic.
Roger, born in 1957, is an auto mechanic.
Carl is a student at Tinora High School.
The boys help with the farming and chores.
Mary Shibler, born in 1931, is married to Arden Grime, born 1933, son of Lawrence Grime. Mary is church organist and is employed in the catering service. Arden is a hoist operator at Yoder and Frey, is a trustee of St. John Lutheran Church where he and Mary are members, and served in the army during the Korean Conflict. They live in Archbold, Ohio, next to the LaChoy plant. They have three sons, Paul, David and Andrew.
Paul, born in 1958, is a music major at Valparaiso University. David, born in 1960, is a student at Archbold High School and employed in construction work. Andrew, born in 1962, is a student at Archbold High School.
Helen Shibler was born in 1933. She married Lyman Newcomer who was born in 1934, and is a son of Newell Newcomer. Lyman is a grain, steer and swine farmer, and the family are members of St. John Lutheran Church, Ridgeville Township, and Lyman has served in the offices of deacon and trustee there. He served in the army during the Korean Conflict, and is a director at the Ney Elevator and a 4-H advisor. Helen and Lyman live three miles south of Bryan, Ohio, and have four children, Glen, Gina, Kristine and Holly.
Glen, born in 1961, is a student at Fairview High School, and helps his father with the farming. Gina, born in 1963, is a student 'at Fairview High School and Kristine, born in 1966, and Holly, born in 1968, are students at Farmer Elementary School.
