Benjamin Sheldon

Benjamin Sheldon was mayor of Napoleon, Ohio, in 1874. He was born at Huron, Ohio, in 1834. He settled in Napoleon in 1861 and married, at Norwalk, in 1863, Anna E. Dodd, daughter of William and Mary Dodd, born Henry County in May, 1844.

Benjamin's brothers, Irwin E. and Oscar F. Sheldon, served in the 37th Illinois V.I. during the Civil War.

Children of Benjamin and Anna Dodd Sheldon were: Harry, 1864; Jessie, 1866; William, 1868; Helen, 1873; and Edna L., 1874.
