Joseph was born in Pennsylvania to Matthew and Margaret Sharp. His parents had emigrated from England and Germany. He married Mary E. Snyder (1837-1903) of Chambersburg, New York, in Ashland County. Five children were born: Henry, Laura, and Charles, two dying in infancy.
At the beginning of the Civil War, Joe joined Co. B. 10th Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Cavalry and served to the end of the War. After returning from the War they farmed near Tiffin until 1872 when they moved to Washington Township in Henry County and bought the farm now owned by James Ryan on County Road V. In 1888 they bought the present homestead on Township Rd. U-4.
Henry and Medora Sharp were parents of Myrtle, Maude, Erma, Golda, Fred, Earl, Ward, Vern, Frank and Homer.
Laura married Ambrose Bland and lived on a farm near Tiffin. They were the parents of two girls, Billie and Bea.
Charles, 1857-1959, and Sarah Schwanger, 1870-1964, were married and lived with his parents and farmed on present homestead. Four children were born to them: Homer, Warren and Grace, one child dying in infancy. Charles was the last of the commercial hunters in this area and served on the Washington Township Board of Education and was an early supporter of the present consolidated school system.

Homer married Helen Overmyer, 1894-1970. They have two sons, Dale and Lawrence. At present Homer, Dale, and Lawrence have adjoining farms on County Rd. V and County Rd. 6 and engage in large multi-farming operations.
Dale is married to former Mary Weirach. They have two children, Carol - Mrs. Klaus Seibert, who has one son, a student in grade school at Liberty Center.
Charles married the former Linda Jennings. Four children were born to them: Byronna, Jenell, Richard, and Charles. They live on a farm on County Rd. 5. He is also employed at the Anderson Company in Maumee.
Lawrence married Virginia Weirach, a sister to Mary Weirach Sharp. They are the parents of two daughters, Charlotte, a graduate of Adrian College who is a teacher and also in charge of girls athletics at Archbold High School. Marlene, a graduate of St. Vin-cents School of Nursing, is married to Michael Hamlin a graduate of B.G.S.U. Marlene is on the staff at Heller Memorial Hospital.
Grace married George Daum. They live on a farm on Rt. 109 south of Liberty Center. They have one daughter, Belva. Grace is retired from McCord Company, Wauseon, and George is engaged in farming. Belva attended B.G.S.U. and is co-owner of the Redwood Dairy Bar in Liberty Center. She lives on her farm on County Rd. S.
Warren, 1895-1962, married Margaret Wulff, 1898-1954. He attended Defiance College and was drafted in the AEF and served in France until the end of the war. They lived on their farm on County Rd. S. Three children were born to them - Eleanor, Edna, and Ervin. Warren served on the Liberty School Board of Education 19201964 and the Henry County Board of Education.
Eleanor married E. Clyde Slee. They are the parents of four children: Scott, Ann, Ellen, and Neal. They own the old homestead at the present time. Eleanor is a graduate of St. Vincents Hospital School of Nursing, served 2 years in the Navy Nurse Corps and employed at the Maumee Youth Camp. Clyde served 5 years in the Army and is employed at the Ohio Division of Transportation.
Scott attended Toledo U. and is employed as a youth leader at the Maumee Youth Camp. Ann attended B.G.S.U. and is employed at Unit Plastics in Liberty Center. Ellen is a student at B.G.S.U. and Neal is a senior at Liberty Center and 4 County Vocational School.
Edna is married to Don Myers. They are the parents of Jon, Richard, and Jeffery, 1952-1961. They own and operate Myers Crop Center in Liberty and live on a farm on County Rd. T. Edna is employed as a secretary to the high school principal at Liberty Center Schools. Don served in the Medical Corps of the Army and attended Ohio State University.
Jon is married to Ruth Ann Kessler. They have two children, Robert and Gwendolyn. Jon is a graduate of B.G.S.U. and is employed as an accountant in the Henry County Engineers Office and Myers Crop Center. Ruth Ann is employed at Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon. Their home is on County Rd. V.
Richard is married to Patricia Patrick. He is a graduate of B.G.S.U. and is presently with Myers Crop Center. They live on County Rd. 7 and have two children, Lisa and Andrea.
Ervin is married to Grace Spiess, and they live in Delta. He is an executive pilot for Owens Illinois in Toledo. Grace is a cashier at the Farmers Bank in Delta. They are the parents of four children: Joe, Bruce, Linda, and Judy.
Joe is a graduate of Ohio University and is presently employed in the photographic department of Owens-Illinois, Toledo.
Bruce is a senior at Ohio University.
Linda is a junior at Toledo University and is on the staff at St. Charles Hospital, Toledo.
