At the turn of the century, 1900, George Seibold started a "General Blacksmithing and Horse-shoeing" business in Napoleon, Ohio.
The establishment was located on North Perry Street across from the old Heller Aller business that made windmills. George operated this blacksmithy with his son, Elgy.
George died in December of 1935 at the age of 83 years. He was the oldest active blacksmith in Henry County at the time.

At this time Elgy (fondly known as Shorty) took over the business, remodeled the building and also added welding to the services of the business. He operated the business at this site until 1939. He then moved to Ridgeville Corners and operated a blacksmith shop until he became ill in 1950. He passed away in July of 1953.
He was survived by his wife Lelah, who died in 1968; his son, Robert Earl Seibold, Miami, Florida; Mrs. Don (Lenore) Shartzer, Miami, Florida; Mrs. Delbert (Carolyn) Greenhagen, Napoleon, Ohio; and Mrs. Robert (Dorthy) Ruhly, Miami, Florida, who passed away in 1969; and ten grandchildren.
