Heinrich Seedorf was born in 1857 in Vellen Beverstedt, Germany. At the age of 28 years he came to America to Henry County and worked as a hired hand at the Filling farm just south of Napoleon. After 31/2 years he had saved enough money to go back to Germany and get his bride. On March 9, 1888, he married Maria Koehnke (born in 1856 in Barkhousen, Providence Hanover) in Germany.

The couple then came to Henry County and lived in Flatrock Township for 11/2 years. They moved to Bart- low Twp. and rented a farm for 10 years. In 1899 they moved to their own farm on County Road F between St. Rt. 65 and Co. Road 3. They worked the fields and raised their family - Anna Maria, Christ, Sophia, William, Marie, and Henry.
Sophia Seedorf married William Ludeman, Jr. Their children include: Amanda Ludeman Rabe, Ida Ludeman Meyer, Alma Ludeman Witte, Paul Ludeman, and Norma Ludeman Kuesel.
