Jacob Scott was born at Piqua Plains, Piqua, Piqua County, Ohio on December 5, 1828, and died at Florida, Ohio, on February 25, 1895.

Jacob married Catharine Huffman on September 15, 1857. Catharine died on May 31, 1891.

The Scotts had no children of their own but they raised Abraham Truby, Charles Kimmer, and Lena Rapp who married Henry Rohrs.

George W. Scott, of Hicksville, Defi­ance County, Ohio, was a brother of Jacob Scott.
