Blitz Family

Jules Wm. Blitz was born in Napoleon in 1910, the son of Edgar G. and Lillian M. (Tietjens) Blitz. Edgar G., 1883-1950, was born in Sandusky, and died in Philadelphia. The father of Edgar G. was Edward A., 1842-1904, born in Paris, France, and died in Toledo. He was an immigrant to USA in 1858, and then was naturalized. The mother of Edgar G. was Rueana (Bell), 18451932, born in Harrison County, Ohio, and died in Detroit. Her parents were Daniel and Mary Bell, both born in Maryland. Lillian M. (Tietjens) Blitz, 1884-1930, mother of Jules, was born in Napoleon and died in Detroit. Her parents were John Wm. and Dora (Dittmers) Tietjens. John Wm. Tietjens, 1850-1916, was born near Cuxhaven, Germany, the son of J. W. and Govestine (Wichmann) Tietjens. John was an immigrant to USA in 1868 and came directly to Napoleon; he was naturalized in 1870. Dora (Dittmers), 1855-1943, was born in Visselhoevede, Germany, the daughter of John and Mary (Meyer) Dittmers. She emig -ated to USA in 1872 and came to Napoleon, where she married John in 1374. Both John Wm. and Dora died in Napoleon.

Jules, now retired from Gould, Inc., married Margaret E. Hoeffel in 1935. Margaret was born in 1913, the daughter of John A. (Sr.) and Magdalena (Rusch) Hoeffel of Napoleon. The four children of Jules and Margaret were born in Napoleon.

Patricia M. (Blitz) Bankey was born in 1936. In 1955 she married John E. Bankey, a Vocational School teacher, and they live in Napoleon. Their children are John P., born in 1959, Michael L., born in 1961 and David S., born in 1962.

William J. Blitz was born in 1942. He graduated from Ohio U. in 1965. He subsequently received his law degree from Cleveland State U. and pissed the Ohio Bar in 1973. His mar riage in 1971 to Cindy LaMotte, of Wauseon, ended in divorce. He then married Linda Stayton of Cleveland, in 1974. He is an attorney with Allstate Insurance Co., and they live in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Their son is Zachary W., born in Cleveland in 1977.

                        Jack E. Blitz was born in 1944. Following a year at Ohio U. he completed a four year enlistment in the USAF and was discharged in the grade of SSgt. He married Nicki Barton of Toledo, and to them was born a daughter, Monica A., in Toledo in 1970. Jack and Nicki divorced, and Jack then married Sally Morris in 1975. They live in Toledo and he is a student in Pharmacy at Toledo U.

Debra A. (Blitz) Cooke was born in 1958. She married William R. Cooke of Napoleon, employed by Welded Construction Co. They live in Napoleon and their daughter is Rochelle C., born in 1977.
