The Ida Schwiebert Witte Family

Daughter of Henry and Anna Schwiebert.

Born August 18, 1872, near Okolona, Ohio, she married Wm. Witte December 18, 1890. They farmed near Hamler, Ohio, and then in 1915 they bought a farm near Rhodes, Michigan, where they lived the rest of their life.

They had eight children and they are as follows: Clara who married Bill Rabe and they had 5 children; Fred married Emilie Schuette with 6 children; Otto married Helen Tarbrake with 5 children; Anna married Ferd Ehlers with 3 children; Paul married Minnie Mohrman with 5 children; Ida married Lewis Katzer with 4 children; Wm. married Sarah Bichtel with 10 children; and Heinrich married Jennie Ritter with 2 children. Clara, Fred, Otto, Anna, and Heinrich are deceased.

Wm. Witte died at the age of 86 and Ida died April 12, 1962, at 89. At the time of her death she had 40 grandchildren, 81 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Fred and Amelia Witte farmed near Hamler, Ohio, and he later worked at Sylvania TV at Ottawa, Ohio. He died at 72 and Amelia lives presently in Hamler.

Their children are: Lorenz, married to Alma Ludeman and their children are Larry, Marvelle, Marie, Dale, and Luther; Lenard married Edna Tietje, (children are Raymond, Evelyn, Robert, Kenneth, and James); Lillian married Eldor Fitzenreiter and their children are Marie, Annette, Ruth, and Christine; Lulu married Walter Rickenberg and their children are Carol, Mary, Grace, David, Jane, Elizabeth, Johnathon, and Christa; Louis married Mary Alice Freytag with children Helen, Jo Ann, Donna (Dec'd.), William, David, Linda and Sandra; Loretta married Edwin Seedorf and their children are Daniel, Debra, Lori, Mark, John (Dec'd.), and Ronald.

The six children all live in Henry County.
