Veronica (Frona) Schuller, daughter of Nicholas and Margaret Kelling Schuller, was born January 22, 1892, in New Bavaria, Ohio. She married Ignatius Eiden who had been born in rural New Bavaria, August 15, 1883. They were married at Sacred Heart Church in 1911.
They had three children: Walburga, born in 1911; Audvin, 1913, deceased; and Julia, born in 1915.
Walburga graduated from St. Johns Commercial, Defiance, in 1928, and graduated from St. Anns Hospital Nurses Training in Cleveland in 1931. On November 5, 1932, she was united in marriage with Elishia Francis Marston, born in Columbus, Georgia, to Dotty Dean and Bevy Blond (Duke) Marston in 1903. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech, Atlanta, Georgia, and traveled for the Measuregraph Company of St. Louis, Missouri. The Marstons established their home in New Bavaria in 1937. On November 1, 1946, he met with instant death by an automobile and train accident and is buried in Sacred Heart Cemetery. There were no children.
Julia Eiden, daughter of Ignatius and Veronica Eiden, married Eldred Brown of New Bavaria, and has three children: Janet Recker, Ottawa, Ohio; Edwin Brown, Hicksville, Ohio; and Rosalie Kaple, Ottawa, Ohio.
Ignatius Eiden bought his forty acre farm on Tar Street, now Road 14, from Frank Wenzinger on February 13, 1907. He built his barn with wooden pegs instead of all nails or spikes. He built the two-story house, chicken coop, and the "outdoor nature call" house and completed them ready to make a permanent residence when he and Veronica were married.
Veronica was instructed to play piano and pipe organ by Miss Della Baker (Mrs. Conrad Fenter). She played the pipe organ at Sacred Heart at a young age, and walked the sawdust sidewalks all the way to the church. Her service continued for several years after she married and was a mother. Father Kolb was the pastor at that time. During the organ and choir practice, Father Kolb would hold the baby and let it play with his nice long white beard.
William Schuller, the son of Nicholas and Margaret Kelling Schuller, married Genevieve "Phoebe" Swary in 1912.
The following children were born to the couple: Mary Alfreda, married Linus Theisen, New Bavaria and had: John, unmarried, lives at home; Susan, married John Spurgeon, Napoleon, and has Tom, Tony, Tod, Tad, Tim; Rufus, married Vivian Rohrs and has Sarah, Allan, and Julia; Walter, unmarried, at home; James, married Judy Hauck, Ottawa, and lives in Lambertville, Michigan; Robert, married Sandra Wilhelm, has Jennifer, Christopher and Kenneth, lives at New Bavaria; Roger, married Jan Clayton, Deshler, and lives in Napoleon.
Walter Schuller married Frances. Thomas and wife Helen Schroeder, Glandorf had children Jack, Deanna, Joan, Danny, and William. Kay Schuller married Richard Kulman and had Charles, Tammie, and Marty. Dennis Schuller married Nancy Wenner, and had Steven and Stacy, and they live in New Bavaria. Kathy Schuller married William Geisiege, and lives in rural Defiance, and has Angelia, Robbie, and Chad.
Jerome, the third child of William and Phoebe Schuller, is unmarried and lives in Lima, Ohio.
Catherine Schuller, the daughter of Nicholas and Margaret Kelling Schuller, was born in New Bavaria and was united in marriage with William Schafer, an automobile dealer in Continental, Ohio. They had two children, John Leland and Margaret Ellen. John Leland Schafer was married to Sarah E. Butler of Fairborn, Ohio, and is an automobile dealer in Defiance, and lives in rural Defiance. Their children are John D., Timothy Lee, deceased, Melinda, and twins Thomas and Theresa. Margaret Ellen was married, lived in California, had one daughter, Michelle, who made her home with John Leland at age twelve, and her parents are deceased.
