The three Schroeder brothers, three Joost sisters, and a sister-in-law, represent a large portion of the originators of the Schroeder-Joost Reunion that began about 1912, or before. Each year about the second Sunday in June the decendants of the Schroeder and Joost families would gather at one of the homes for a family pot luck dinner, recreation, programs, games, and visiting. These reunions continued until the early 1940's when they were discontinued because of rationing. Later the Schroeder families continued having the gatherings at the Archbold Ruhley Park up to and including 1969.
