Charles E. Reynolds was the son of Abijiah and Abby Reynolds, and was born in Massachusetts in 1844. He married Sarah Parker, daughter of James and Rachael Parker, who settled in Henry County in 1861 and in Napoleon in 1866.
Charles and Sarah had two children: Earlie, born 1869, and Jean, born 1870.
Mr. Reynolds came to Napoleon in 1854. In 1875, he was a real estate dealer there. He served during the Civil War in Company F., 68th Ohio Volunteer Infantry and was confined in the Andersonville Prison for thirteen months being released when the Union forces took over the prison.
He served as deputy auditor, county school examiner, and Napoleon Township clerk for ten years.
