Born October 26, 1918, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, daughter of Clarence N. Rettig and Marie Loitz. She attended Napoleon, Ohio, public schools and was 3raduated from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing, Toledo, Ohio, 1940. She practiced nursing profession in Heller Memorial Hospital, Napoleon, Ohio for 30 years, 19 of which were served as operating room supervisor. She was active in nursing circles as the first elected president of Fulton- Henry District Nurses when it was established, and also served on the advisory council of the Ohio Nurses Association and on the advisory council of the American Nurses Association. She is a member of Soroptimist International, Napoleon, Ohio, of which she is a past president and past district secretary of Midwestern Region Soroptimist International. She is a member of Napoleon Order Eastern Star.
