Lulu M. (Bradley) Reiser was born on June 18, 1885. She graduated from Napoleon High School and continued on to college at Ohio University to be a teacher. She taught her first year at Liberty Center, Ohio, then returned to Napoleon Schools and taught first grade until her marriage.
On October 2, 1908, Lulu married Jacob F. Reiser. Jacob was born on December 17, 1878, the son of Mathias Reiser and Rosina Meyer Reiser. Jacob and Lulu were married after attending college. Jacob worked at the bank, then had a shoe store, and then a restaurant. They ran the restaurant until the depression hit. Jacob lived to be seventy-eight years of age.
Mrs. Reiser was active in the Humane Society and was the secretary for many years. She was active in the choir and Mission Society at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon, Ohio. Jacob suffered a paralyzing stroke in 1950 and Lulu took care of him at home for five years until his death on March 31, 1956. She also took care of Tige, her son, who had an incurable brain tumor. Lulu had arthritis and was confined to a wheel chair but lived alone until the last year of her life. She died on May 8, 1975 after a very full, happy and Christian life. She lived in the white brick home across from the Napoleon Post Office for fifty eight years.
Lulu and Jacob Reiser had six children, one of which died at birth. The other children were Herbert Bradley, Mathias Jacob, Elsielou, Dona Marie, and James Albert.
Herbert Bradley Reiser, Gig, was born in 1911, and married Mary Burton. Their children are Herbert, Jr. and James Allan. Herb is a golf pro and made his first hole in one at the Napoleon Golf Course. He has the Park Hotel in New Oxford, Pennsylvania. He was an army officer in World War II.
Donna Marie Reiser was born in 1913. After teaching physical education for several years in local high schools, she moved to California and is teaching in the Palo Mar College at San Marcos, California.
Mathias Jacob Reiser, Tige, was born in 1917 and died in 1960. He married Gretchen Hanson. Their children are Bradley Hanson and Dudley Edward. Tige was a real estate and car salesman. He was working in a bank when he developed a brain tumor and lived for three years. He was an officer in the navy during World War II.
James Albert Reiser was born in 1919 and married Lou Ann Brown. Their children are Sharon Ann and Don James. Jim is a physical therapist and has his own office in Tucson, Arizona. He was an officer in the navy in World War II.
Elsielou Reiser was born in 1927. She married Arthur D. Sigg. Their children are William Jacob, Donna Lou, and John Arthur. They live on a farm near Wauseon, Ohio, and farm three hundred acres of land.
