Orvil Marion Benskin

Orvil Marion Benskin was born on January 21, 1922, in Napoleon, Ohio, to William Henry and Pearl Leora Gilson Benskin. William Benskin was the son of Charles Marvin and Lucy Back Benskin. His grandfather, William Hobbs Benskin, was born on December 6, 1822, in Hargatel, England, and came to the United States with his parents in 1830. In 1847, he married Catherine Bales. They were the parents of five children. Pearl Leora Gilson was the daughter of Boston and Maria Rhodes Gilson, and the granddaughter of Richard and Sophia Cline Gilson. The Gilsons came to Ohio from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Orvil Benskin has been employed for the past twenty-seven years by the United Telephone Company of Ohio in equipment maintenance. He is a Navy veteran of World War II.

On April 11, 1947, he married Marilyn Elizabeth Renneckar, daughter of William Joseph and Dorothy LaVerne Woodward Renneckar of Napoleon, Ohio. Marilyn, a former bank teller, is presently treasurer of Christ United Methodist Church where she and her husband are members.

Orvil and Marilyn are the parents of Sheryl Ann, born February 5, 1948. Sheryl is a certified laboratory technician and is married to Dana E. Wright. Their marriage was on September 4, 1971. Dana is an employee of the Santa Fe Railroad. Their three children are Christopher Edward, Amanda Lea, and Matthew Joseph. The Wright family lives in Chillicothe, Illinois.

Deborah Sue Benskin was born on February 4, 1954, and is a dental assistant. She married Michael Reetz on September 27, 1975, and they have a daughter, Lara Jennifer, and they live in Wauseon, Ohio. Michael is employed as outside plant engineer for the United Telephone Company of Ohio.

Roger William was born on July 1, 1957 and is presently serving as an avionics specialist in the U.S. Navy.

Orvil Benskin's sister, Margene Elizabeth Benskin married Woodrow Reimund on May 9, 1947, in Napoleon, Ohio. Woodrow was a World War II veteran, a former deputy sheriff, and was a guard at Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon when he died suddenly on March 26, 1965. Woodrow and Margene Reimund had three children.

William Milo Reimund was born on April 23, 1948, and married, on October 23, 1975, Joy Coatee, of Defiance, Ohio. William is an employee of Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon and Joy is employed by G.C. Murphy Company in Bowling Green, Ohio.

They live in Bowling Green.

Reggie Ronald Reimund was born on February 26, 1952 and married Joanne Garbers on November 3, 1973. They have a daughter, Regine Jo, and live in Wauseon, Ohio. Reggie is employed by United Telephone Company of Ohio.

Luanna Lee Reimund was born on January 16, 1955, resides in Napoleon, and has a daughter, Michelle Lynn Tadsen.
