Carl Huber married and lost his first wife in Germany. Some years later he emigrated to America from Kaiserslautern, Moschbock, Bavaria, Ger many, in 1853. Coming with him were his son, Charles Huber, his son-in-law, Herman Rausch, and a daughter, Anna Maria Huber Rausch and Herman and Anna's four children who were born in Germany.
Charles Huber lived in Henry County near Holgate. The Huber family history appears in this book.
After arriving in America, Herman and Anna Maria continued on to Bucyrus in Crawford County, Ohio, where they lived until 1859. Herman and Charles left Bucyrus walking along the railroad tracks to a farm they had rented near Elery, Ohio. After they were settled, the rest of the family came by train. Herman and Anna lived there until they moved to their own farm southwest of Napoleon on the river road.
Herman and Anna Maria, known as Mary Ann, had four more children after coming to America making a total eight children in their family. The following record of births. was found in a German bible belonging to daughter, Karliena, Caroline, who married Henry Leaders.
