Betty Marie (Rettig) Benien

Born in Napoleon, Ohio, November 9, 1920, daughter of Clarence N. Rettig and Marie Loitz. Deceased January 1, 1970. She attended Napoleon, Ohio, public schools and was graduated from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing, Toledo, Ohio, in 1941. She practiced in the nursing profession in Wauseon and Toledo, Ohio, and Denver, Colorado, San Diego, and San Bernadino, California, and was a member of the state nurses associations in which she practiced. She was married to Paul John Benien of Hamler, Ohio, on November 28, 1948. Both Betty and Paul Benien were charter members of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Phoenix, Arizona. Betty was a member of the Napoleon Order Eastern Star.
