Poley-Schneider Families

These two families were early residents of Marion and Pleasant Townships of Henry County, Ohio. The families emigrated from Germany to this county.

Servotius Schneider died in Pleasant Township on July 27, 1889, leaving a widow, Elizabeth, and the following

children: Anna M. Schneider, who remained in Germany; Mary A. Spangler; Catharine Wenzinger; Gertrude Thome; and sons, John and Joseph Schneider.

George Schneider died in Flatrock township on February 24, 1885, leaving a widow, Mary E., and children, Catharine Krabill, Maria C. Greyole, Jacob, John and George Schneider. This line sometimes spelled their name as Snider. Jacob married Elizabeth Lifer on May 3, 1860. His brother, John Schneider married Elizabeth Smith on April 29, 1862.

Mary Schneider married Frederick Franz on December 2, 1880.

Another marriage was John Nider and Catharine Lifer on October 11, 1864, and is thought to belong to this branch of the family.

Ann Mary Schneider married Mathais Schwaab on January 2, 1862.

Caspar Schneider died on October 3, 1897 at the age of eighty years, four months and three days and was born in Germany.
