Orthwein-Pittman

Jerry Orthwein and Nora Pittman were married, in Harrison Township, on November 11, 1893, by Rev. Thor- ten D. Ingle. Their wedding dinner was served by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gidley, assisted by Mary Genuit.

Nora's father, Levi Pittman, died when Nora was quite young. Charles Gidley was a brother to Nora's mother, Susanne Gidley Pittman.

The Jerry Orthwein's were parents of five children, Esther, Marjorie, George, Ruth, and Mildred. Ruth died before Mildred was born. Jerry Orthwein died in 1902 when Mildred was one year old.

Esther Orthwein married Arthur 0. Miller and had six children, Isadora, Weldon, Dorothy, Ruth, Larry, and Kenneth. Two children, Dorothy and Larry, are deceased. Isadora married Wallace Brown and had Arda and Arthur. Then she divorced Wallace and later married William Bradford and had one son, William Bradford, Jr. William, Sr. adopted Arda and Arthur. Arda married Dwight Bucher and had one son, Jason. Arthur married Mary Tidwell. William, Jr. married Kathleen Torok and had a son, William Ill.

Weldon Miller married Doris Tillett of England and had six children, Philip, Keith, Dwight, Maureen, and twins, Lynn and Lindsey. Keith married Sherry Little and has sons, Matthew and Luke. Maureen married William Little and has Rachel and Albert.

Kenneth Miller married Marie Brandt and had four children, John who died at birth, Rebecca, Michael and Thomas Miller. Rebecca married Timothy Memmer and has one son, Greg Matthew. Ruth married Clarence Lee, of Toledo, formerly of South Dakota, and has Robert and Karen Lee.

Marjorie and George Orthl,vein lived with their mother when she passed away, and still live in the family home.

Mildred Orthwein, the youngest child, married Albert Richard, from Indiana. Albert had married Neta Kelly and had a son, Rex Richard. Several years after the birth of Rex, Neta died. Albert and Mildred met and were married, and had one daughter, Fern, and four sons, Paul, Bert, Joe E. and Jerry. Fern married James Keiffer and had Joyce, Nora, Donald and Robert Keiffer. Rex married Marjorie NewLove and they had Kay, Betty, Thomas and Gary. Paul married Marilyn Shively and had Craig, deceased, Donna and Roger. Bert married Lavonda Rabe and had Alice, Marian and Robert. Joe E. Richard married Karen Fischman and had Terri Sue and Melissa. Jerry married Barbara Puehler and has one daughter, Dawn.

In this family there were four men and two women who were in the United States Service. Some members are electricians, musicians, carpenters, nurses and farmers.
