The first record we can find is of James and Sarah Myers. They were parents of George Myers who married Maria Hiskey. They came to Henry County in 1833 from Pennsylvania. George Myers died in the Soldier's Home at Sandusky. George and Maria had thirteen boys and one girl. One boy, Ervin, made his home in Napoleon and had one son, Claude. Another boy was Grant Myers, who lived in Hamler. We know that he played in the Hamler band and have been told that he directed it. Grant's work was that of digging wells. While digging a well for James Wilson, he met Emma Wilson, fell in love with her, and on September 13, 1906, they were married.

Emma Wilson was born June 10, 1883. Grant was born June 6, 1872. Their union was blessed with five children: Lavon, Erma, Oral, Ethel, and Leroy. Emma, the mother, died December 16, 1916. The family then moved to Hamler. The grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson, raised the son, Leroy (Bud) who was only a year and a half old when his mother died. They lived in Holgate, Ohio, until 1931. At the death of the grandparents, he went to live with an uncle, Mr. and Mrs. James Wilson on the Wilson home farm.
In 1936, Leroy married Juanita Overly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Overly. They farmed with her father and rented the Fred Meine farm. After the death of Jacob Overly in 1938, they remained on the Parry farm. Mrs. Mae Overly moved to Florida and lived there until her death. Juanita and Bud lived on the Parry farm until Bud's failing health forced them to leave the farm and move into Florida where they now reside on Church Street.
One son, Gary, was born to Juanita and Leroy. He married Sandra Stites, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Stites, on November 18, 1961. They live on a farm on Road 16 one mile north of Florida. They have three children: Kelly, born October 11, 1962; Kim, born April 11, 1964; and Brad Leroy, born March 16, 1968.
