Emanuel Motter was born in May, 1835. He married Elizabeth Weirauch on April 5, 1860. His brother, Joseph George Motter, married Catharine Weirauch, a sister to Elizabeth, on the same day. The double wedding was held at the Weirauch home. Elizabeth Weirauch Motter was born in 1844 in Germany. The children of Emanuel and Elizabeth Motter were Adam, Catharine, Susannah, Joseph, Wilson S., Mary Ellen, Charles, William Henry, and George Washington Motter. George Washington was born on August 26, 1867.
Adam Motter was born in 1862 and died the same year. Catharine was born in January, 1864. Susannah, born in April, 1865, married Alfred Stow Tubbs, son of Alfred and Rebecca Marihugh Tubbs, on November 8, 1883 in Fulton County, Ohio. Joseph Motter was born in March, 1870 and married Christina Goll. Wilson S. Motter was born December 2, 1877 and died in 1905 and married Elizabeth Ramus on March 22, 1900. Mary Ellen Motter was born on June 10, 1874. Charles Motter was born in 1879. William Henry Motter was born in 1872 and died in 1905. His wife, Fannie, was born in 1876 and died in 1947.
Joseph George Motter was born in 1842 and died in 1911. He married Catharine Weirauch who was born in 1838 and died in 1906. Joseph and Catharine had a daughter, Elizabeth Motter, born in 1867, died in 1937, who married Daniel Markley and is included in the Markley history in this volume. Their son, Emanuel Motter, born in 1862 died in 1885. Joseph and Catharine raised a nephew, Wilson Lettick, son of Simon and Delilah Gehrett Lettick. Simon, born in 1844, was a son of Peter Lettick who was born in 1818, and Catharine, born in 1813. Simon served in the Civil War where he was carried on the rolls as Simon Leetick. Early spelling of the name was "Lillich". William Henry, first child born to Simon and Deliliah Lettick, was born and died on September 20, 1866. Delilah died on August 14, 1876 when Wilson was about two years old. Wilson Lettick married Alice Tubbs. After his death, Alice taught school in Henry County country schools and the Deshler City School until her marriage to Augustus Motter in 1918.
Sarh, or Sally, Motter married David Stickler on May 29, 1852. They had several children including Lydia and Angelina Stickler.
Catherine Motter married twice. Her first marriage was to a man named Metz, and her second marriage to Jacob Fether.
