Louis L. Monthaven Family

Edward Monthaven married Daisey Crawford at Deshler, Ohio in 1898. He was the son of Frank and Bridgette McTigue Monthaven and Daisey was the daughter of John and Almira Blake Crawford.

Edward and Daisey had five children: Horace, Howard, Vera, Crawford and William Monthaven.

Horace Monthaven married Violette Brobst in 1920. The Brobst family were early Pennsylvania-Dutch settlers in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania, dating back to 1720. Their children were Louis L. Monthaven who married Sylvia Rettig; Robert W. Monthaven married Jeanne Meade, California; and Julie married Thomas Marlatt, California.

Howard Monthaven died in the flu epidemic of 1918.

Vera Monthaven married Casey Jones. They lived in Michigan. They had Dorothy and James Jones.

Crawford Monthaven married Pauline Thurston. They had a daughter, Kay Monthaven.

William Monthaven married Ruby Powell of Deshler, Ohio. They had a daughter, Jan Monthaven, and a son William Monthaven, Jr.

Louis L. Monthaven, the son of Edward Monthaven, married Sylvia Rettig, the daughter of Jacob and Caroline Sonnenberg Rettig, of Richfield Township, Henry County, Ohio. Louis and Sylvia live in Burbank, California. They had two children.

Carolyn Monthaven married James Gansen and lives in Thousand Oaks, California. They had Chris, Donald and Heidi.

L. Lynn married Anne Marie Gattuso and live in Hollywood, California.
