After his marriage to Emma Rose- borough, Will moved to Jay County, Indiana, leaving the farming to his brothers. But after Emma's death, in 1898, he returned to the home farm, with his son, Grant, and daughter, Gertrude. On December 12, 1902, he married the young widow, Catura (Keturah) Miller Dinsch, daughter of Tilghman Miller, whose prosperous acres adjoined those of the Mires family.
Gertrude was a member of the class of 1912 at Liberty Center High School, but her health even then was not good, and she was sent to Albuquerque, for sun and dry air. She died of tuberculosis in 1917. Grant was raised by the Roseboroughs, in Indiana. He had no children.
Upon Will's death, his pastor, the Reverend David E. Martz, commented "… a most generous, noble-hearted Christian and a loyal citizen… a thoroughly trustworthy man."
