John Miller

The John Miller family arrived in Henry County in the late 1880's and completed the clearing of a farm near Grelton, Ohio. His wife, Sara (Krohn) Miller formerly lived in Providence Township, Lucas County, Ohio. Her parents had come to this area from the vicinity of York, Pennsylvania. Her brother, Frank Krohn, lived on the adjoining farm near Grelton.

John and Sara Miller were the parents of two children, Edward and Wesley. Edward remained on the farm until his death in the early 1920's. After working in the Toledo area, Wesley Miller returned to McClure in 1920 as Assistant Cashier of The Farmers State Bank.

Wesley Miller and Marjorie I (Comstock) Miller were the parents of two children: Robert K., born on May 18, 1922, and Margaret E., born on May 29, 1929. The family was active in the Methodist Church in McClure. After becoming Cashier of The Farmers State Bank, Wesley resigned in 1927 to work full time in the Miller Insurance Agency which had been established in 1920. His wife, Marjorie, died in 1927. The family remained in McClure until 1946.

Wesley Miller married Susie (Cooper) Miller in 1943. In 1946, he sold the Miller Insurance Agency to his son and retired to Texas where he remained until his death in 1967.

Margaret Miller moved to the same area after her graduation from High School and married George Pratt. They have lived in Texas since that time and have four children: Wesley, Andrew, James, and Marjorie Ann.

Robert Miller married Erma R. (Bowers) Miller in 1946. He has continued the Miller Insurance Agency, moving the office to Weston, Ohio, in 1960. They have three sons, Robert, Jr., born April 23, 1948, David born December 8, 1956, and Donald born July 5, 1962. The family has continued to live in McClure since their marriage and have been active in St. Pauls Lutheran Church in McClure, Ohio.

Robert K. Miller, Jr., married Patricia (Daniel) Miller in 1973. They live northeast of McClure. His wife, Patricia, teaches in the Delta School System. Robert K. Miller, Jr., is a part owner of the Miller Insurance Agency in Weston that was established by his grandfather. He graduated from Wittenburg University; his wife graduated from Bowling Green State University.

David Miller is now a student at Capital University. Donald Miller is a student in Napoleon School.
